Our Award Winning Wines In an era where highly extracted, high alcohol, heavily oaked wines usually receive the highest ratings with wine writers we continue to buck the trend with our highly sought after bright, fruit forward wines with soft tannins and delicious flavors. Our wines are handcrafted in a traditional labor intensive old world style. We use only the highest quality grapes and we do not filter, fine, or add any additional sulfites to our reds. Oak aging provides ample tannins to balance flavors without overpowering the grape flavors, and this results in soft, natural, delicious wines that showcase Washington State terroir. These wines are well balanced with a common style of clean, fresh fruit flavors that reflects the varietal inherent in the grapes. New Releases - Barbera 2005 - $19.00 - NW Wine Summit Award Winner SILVER MEDAL - Grand Harvest Awards 2008 Sagemoor Vineyard - Columbia Valley Originally from the Peidmont region of Italy, Barbera was widely planted in California in the 19th century and is a recent transplant to Washington State. Barbera is light on tannins but has a snappy acidity that both cleanses and provides a fresh balance. This wine is a winner with poultry or creamy pastas. Syrah 2004 - $20.00 Silver Medal Grand Harvest Awards 2008 Bacchus Vineyards Dark purple, and intensely concentrated, this red wine opens with aromas of toasted oak, coffee, and rich, spicy blackberry jam. Beautiful ruby red color and deep berry aromas lead to bright fruit driven flavors of raspberry and spice with a soft round core of cerry fruit. The ggood structure and ample acidity contribute to a long lingering finish. Try this with wild northwest barbequed salmon.
